About NFFRE

Established in 1997, the North Florida Foundation for Education and Research, Inc. (NFFRE), is an independent non-profit (501[c][3]) corporation authorized by Congress (U.S Code 7361-7366) to support VA research and education by maximizing funding. NFFRE supports research and education initiatives on behalf of and for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (see map).

Member of the National Association of Veterans Research Foundations (NAVREF)

Registered with grants.gov, the federal System for Award Management (SAM), and the electronic Research Administration (eRA) commons

Federal-wide assurance certificate with The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP)

How is Our Research Funded?

NFFRE has received or is currently receiving funding from the following sources:

Government agencies such the Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Industry sponsors such as AstraZeneca, Boston Scientific, Cirius Therapeutics, Kowa Research Institute, Novartis, Phillips Respironics, and Sanofi.
Private foundations such as the American Heart Association and Craig H. Neilsen Foundation.
